my new manager is a capricorn and I am a very scattered gemini and its been an adjustment lol
she wants everything planned out three steps ahead and I am the type to have five tabs open and figure it out as I go. she's not mean about it at all, just very structured, but I keep feeling like im one disorganized meeting away from disappointing her
any other geminis worked for a capricorn boss? does the structure thing ever start to feel helpful instead of stressful

This is a really common dynamic! Capricorn's earth energy is all about long-term structure and predictability, while Gemini's mutable air energy thrives on flexibility and following new information as it comes in. On paper that looks like friction, but it's actually complementary once you find the rhythm.
My suggestion: don't try to become a planner overnight. Instead, give her your quick take early and often - a two-line update before she has to ask is usually enough to satisfy that Capricorn need for visibility, and it buys you room to stay flexible in how you actually get the work done.
Most Capricorn bosses aren't trying to box you in, they just need to trust the process is under control. Once she sees you're reliable in your own way, the structure tends to loosen.
