ok so I'm a leo sun and I have somehow dated three scorpios in a row over the past five years
and every single time it's this incredible electric connection and then eventually this exhausting emotional intensity that I don't know how to handle
like I love how deeply scorpios feel things and how passionate they are but also... it can be A LOT. why are they like this?? is it a water sign thing or something specific to scorpio?
and before anyone says 'you're the one choosing them' I KNOW lol. clearly something in me is drawn to this energy. just trying to understand it better so I stop feeling blindsided

Great question - Scorpio intensity comes from a few layers working together.
As a fixed water sign, Scorpios have deep emotional currents (water) that don't easily shift direction (fixed). They're also ruled by Pluto, the planet of transformation and what's hidden beneath the surface. as a scorpio I can confirm... we literally cannot do anything halfway lol
it's not intentional? it's just how everything feels. even mild interest feels intense from the inside. no volume knob, just on or off

I'm a virgo dating a scorpio and the intensity is definitely real but once you understand it's not about YOU (like they're not intense at you, they're just intense at everything) it becomes way less overwhelming

I'm a leo too and my best friend is a scorpio and I used to take it so personally when she'd go quiet and pull away for like a week. thought it was something I did
took me a while to figure out she just processes internally and needs to go deep before she can come back up. once I stopped making it about me and just let her have her space she always came back and we'd have the most real conversations
honestly dating three scorpios in a row is your soul asking you to learn something lol. probably about that exact thing - sitting with intensity instead of trying to fix or lighten it

update: been sitting with the "it's not about you" thing crystalvibes mentioned and honestly its helped so much. stopped chasing after the quiet moments and things feel way less exhausting
