ok so I have two Pisces in my life (my best friend and my cousin) and honestly I love them but... the emotional intensity is A LOT sometimes??
like I'll say something completely harmless and one of them will be in their feelings about it for days. I'm an aquarius so maybe I just don't get it but I genuinely want to understand
is this a real pisces thing or am I just surrounded by unusually sensitive people lol. what's the astrology behind it?
omg yes this is absolutely a pisces thing lol. my sister is a pisces and she can cry at a commercial. I say this with love
Great question! There's actually a lot of astrological reasoning behind this.
Pisces is a water sign, so emotional depth is built in. But what really sets them apart from other water signs (Cancer, Scorpio) is their planetary rulers - Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter expands everything it touches, including feelings. Neptune dissolves boundaries, which means Pisces tends to absorb the emotional energy of everyone around them.
They're not just feeling their own emotions - they're picking up on yours too. That's a lot to carry.
Add in that Pisces is the 12th sign, meaning it contains echoes of all 11 signs before it. There's a sensitivity that comes with being that "final" energy in the zodiac wheel.
For practical purposes: they need more time to process than most. What looks like overreaction is often them untangling their feelings from yours.
the neptune thing makes so much sense!! my pisces ex used to say he could literally feel my mood before I said anything. at the time I thought it was sweet, now I understand it's just how they're wired
ok the part about absorbing other people's emotions is genuinely eye opening. I never thought about it that way, I always assumed it was just about their own feelings
no wonder they need so much alone time to decompress. thanks everyone this actually helps a lot
