ok so I've been reading for about a year now and I'm still figuring out which spreads actually work for me
I started with the classic 3-card (past/present/future) and honestly it's still my most used one but sometimes it feels too... simple? like I need more context
I tried celtic cross a few times and it was SO overwhelming at first but now I kind of love it for big life questions. still not 100% confident reading all 10 positions though lol
recently discovered the horseshoe spread (7 cards) and it feels like a nice middle ground??
curious what everyone uses. do you stick to one spread or switch depending on the question? and does anyone have a spread they made up themselves??
omg the celtic cross overwhelmed me for SO long. I actually avoided it for like 6 months lol
my go-to is a 5-card cross spread - less positions than celtic cross but still gives enough context. way less intimidating
Such a beautiful question to sit with!
The cards whisper differently depending on the container you give them. The 3-card spread is wonderful for daily clarity - past/present/future is just one way to use it though. Try situation/action/outcome or mind/body/spirit for a completely different energy.
For deeper questions, I love a 5-card spread I call the 'soul check': what serves you, what drains you, what you're avoiding, what you're called toward, and a message from your higher self.
Trust your inner knowing about which spread feels right for each question. That instinct IS part of the reading.
I literally made up my own spread for relationship questions!! it's only 4 cards: how I see them, how they see me, what we need, and what to release
works way better for me than any love spread I found online tbh
wait the 'soul check' spread sounds amazing @Sarah K I'm writing that down immediately
and @starryjen omg I love that you made your own!! that's goals honestly. maybe I should try building one around my specific question instead of forcing a premade spread to fit
