ok I feel like we're all a bit too polite in spiritual spaces sometimes and nobody wants to say the real stuff lol
so I'll go first with mine:
I don't think you need any special gift or "psychic ability" to read tarot. like at all. it's pattern recognition + intuition and EVERYONE has intuition. the whole "not everyone can read the cards" gatekeeping is kinda elitist imo
zodiac compatibility charts are way overrated. I've had my worst relationship with someone who was supposedly my "perfect match" and my best one with a so-called terrible pairing. people are more than their sun sign
ok your turn!! what's your controversial take? promise we won't cancel you 😂
omg THANK YOU for saying the tarot thing
I've felt so weird about it because so many people in the community act like if you didn't "feel called" to the cards you're somehow doing it wrong?? I taught myself from a book and I've been reading for 8 years and I'm fine lol
my unpopular opinion: mercury retrograde gets WAY too much blame. I've had some of my best weeks during retrograde and honestly I think it's mostly become a meme at this point
like yes communication stuff can get weird but not every bad day is mercury's fault 😭
Love this thread! I'll add mine as an astrologer: I think people over-rely on their sun sign and ignore the whole chart.
The sun is important but it's one piece of a much larger picture. Someone saying "I'm such a Scorpio" when they have heavy Sagittarius placements everywhere else is actually describing their Sagittarius energy, not their Scorpio.
The pop astrology obsession with sun signs has made the whole field feel shallow, which is frustrating when natal chart work is genuinely nuanced and useful. More people should look at their full chart.
unpopular opinion: crystals are pretty rocks. I love them and I collect them but I don't believe they're doing anything energetically... I just like having them around and they help me get into a calm headspace which is probably the "magic" anyway
dont come for me 😅
wait I love this thread so much
mine: I think journaling prompts from tarot are more useful than actual "predictive" readings. I don't really believe the cards can tell the future but using them as a mirror for what's going on in my head? genuinely life changing
the cards don't predict, they reflect. unpopular?? idk maybe
these are all SO good honestly
@WillowBreeze the "pretty rocks" thing sent me 💀 but also I think you're onto something with the headspace thing. ritual and intention probably do more than the object itself
keep them coming, loving this convo
