ok so I keep seeing two totally different explanations for this card reversed and it's driving me a little nuts
some sources say it means the blindfold finally comes off, you see the truth you've been avoiding. other sources say it means total indecision, like you're now MORE stuck than when the card was upright
I pulled it about a decision I've been sitting on for months and honestly both readings kind of fit?? which isn't helpful lol
how do you personally read it - relief/clarity or deeper confusion? does context in the spread decide it or is there a "default" meaning you go to first
Such a good question because this card genuinely holds both possibilities!
The cards whisper that it comes down to what's happening around it. Next to cards of movement or clarity (like the Star or Ace of Swords), it's the blindfold coming off. Next to cards of stagnation or fear (like the Devil or Four of Cups), it's deeper avoidance and stuckness.
But if you're asking for a default, I'd say reversed Two of Swords usually means the avoidance has become unsustainable - the truth is surfacing whether you're ready or not. Trust your inner knowing on which version fits your situation.
for me it's almost always the "can't avoid it anymore" meaning. every time I've pulled it reversed some truth I was dodging came out within like a week
wait does the direction of the swords in your deck's art change how you read it? mine has one sword pointing down and it always throws me off
sarah k the surrounding cards thing makes so much sense, I didn't even think to look at what was next to it
gonna go back and check my spread again with that in mind. thank you!
