ok so I'm genuinely curious how other people interpret the tower reversed
some sources say its like... disaster averted, you dodged a bullet. but others say its more like the breakdown is happening internally or you're resisting necessary change
which do you go with?? I pulled it in a reading about my living situation and I cant tell if its saying "you avoided a crisis" or "youre in denial about something that needs to fall apart"
honestly both could apply lol
for me it depends so much on the surrounding cards tbh. if theres a lot of stagnant energy around it (like 4 of cups or something) I read it as resisting change. but if theres more forward movement cards I lean toward crisis averted
what else was in your spread?
I always read tower rx as the breakdown happening on the inside instead of outside. like the structures collapsing are beliefs or mental patterns not actual life circumstances
but I know people who swear its about avoiding disaster so idk maybe its just what resonates with your style??
honestly both interpretations have been true for me at different times lol. I think thats why tarot is so personal
the one time I got tower rx about a job it DID mean I was delaying inevitable change. but another time about a move it genuinely was like... crisis averted, stayed where I was and it worked out
these are all so helpful thanks!! theres a 9 of swords nearby so maybe the internal breakdown thing makes more sense. I definitely have been anxious about the whole situation
ok the 9 of swords context is actually really helpful here
that combo (tower rx + 9 of swords) screams internal chaos to me. like the tower is shaking but youre the only one who can feel it? if it was truly "disaster averted" I'd expect something calmer nearby, not anxiety cards
with living situations specifically, tower reversed often shows up when you KNOW something isnt working but youre staying because change is scary. been there. my old apartment was genuinely bad for my mental health but I kept finding reasons to stay until it became impossible
not saying thats your situation but... worth sitting with
the tower rx + 9 of swords combo is so telling honestly
I pulled tower reversed once about a friendship that had been slowly going downhill for months. I kept hoping things would just... fix themselves? and the reading was like "nope, the collapse is already happening, you're just not acknowledging it"
took me another few weeks to finally have the hard conversation. the crisis averted reading never really resonated for me when there's anxious energy around it like you're describing
hope you figure out what your living situation needs - sounds like you're already asking the right questions though
ok coming back with an update because you all were so helpful!!
I ended up sitting with the tower rx + 9 of swords combo for a few days and honestly... it clicked. there wasn't some dramatic external crisis coming. the breakdown was already happening inside my head - like I'd been dreading a conversation with my roommate for months and the anxiety was eating me alive
so I finally just had the talk. it was awkward but not nearly as bad as I'd built it up to be in my mind. we actually sorted things out and now there's way less tension in the apartment
I think the tower reversed was saying the walls I'd built up (avoiding the convo, pretending everything was fine) were what needed to fall, not the living situation itself
thank you all seriously this thread helped me think it through
