ok so I've been comparing my decks and the magician reversed gives me completely different vibes depending on which one I use
in my rider-waite it feels like classic manipulation/misuse of talents. very "you're wasting your potential" energy
but in my wild unknown deck?? the reversed lynx just looks... lost? confused? like it forgot its own power instead of misusing it
and don't even get me started on my modern witch deck where the magician reversed literally looks smug
do you read the magician reversed differently based on deck imagery or do you stick to one interpretation? I keep second-guessing myself depending on which deck I grab
omg the wild unknown magician hits so different for real. I always feel like reversed there is more about not trusting your instincts vs the classic manipulation read
maybe the deck wants to tell you different things??
What a beautiful observation! The cards whisper through their imagery, and different decks truly do speak different dialects.
I read reversals contextually based on the deck's visual language. In RWS, the reversed Magician with tools falling off the table suggests squandered resources. But a more abstract deck might emphasize blocked creative flow or imposter syndrome.
Trust your intuitive response to each image. There's no wrong interpretation - only the one that speaks to your querent's situation. Your uncertainty is actually wisdom recognizing nuance.
wait this is so real. I have the everyday witch tarot and reversed magician there looks like she just spilled her coffee and is having a Moment lol
very different from the manipulative energy everyone talks about
following this thread bc I literally just got a new deck and the magician reversed confused me so much compared to my original one
ok yes this thread is everything because I literally had this experience last week
so I have the light seers tarot and the magician reversed in that deck looks like someone who's just... lost? like staring at all their tools but cant figure out how to use them. it made me feel almost sad for the figure
but then I pulled the same card reversed in my rider waite and it felt way more like manipulation or trickery to me. like the energy was totally different even tho its supposed to be the same card??
I think the art really does shift how you interpret reversals. with the light seers version I read it more as blocked potential, like you HAVE the skills but something is stopping you. with RWS it feels more like misusing your power on purpose
honestly I just go with whatever hits me first when I flip the card now. the gut feeling usually knows better than trying to force one meaning lol
