been doing shadow work for about two months now (highly recommend btw, wild journey) and the hermit reversed has shown up in like four different readings
at first i thought my deck was just messing with me lol. but the more i sit with it the more it clicks - like it keeps pointing at the parts of myself i've been avoiding looking at directly
normally i think of the hermit as this cozy 'go within and reflect' energy but reversed it feels more like... forced isolation? or avoiding the reflection instead of doing it?
anyone else pull this specifically during shadow work. curious how you all read it in that context vs just a regular pull
Oh this is such a precise pull for shadow work! The cards whisper louder when we're doing this kind of inner digging.
Hermit reversed in this context often isn't about failing to reflect - it's about resisting the loneliness that real reflection can bring up. The upright Hermit chooses solitude. Reversed can mean solitude is choosing you, and you're resisting the invitation.
Trust your inner knowing here. What are you protecting yourself from by staying busy or distracted instead of sitting with it?
wait this is exactly what happened to me during my shadow work era last year. felt so exposed every time it showed up lol
update: sat with this properly this week instead of just noting it and moving on. realized i've been low-key avoiding a friendship that needs an honest conversation. weirdly grateful the card wouldn't let up lol
following this thread bc same thing has been happening to me and i never connected it to the shadow work specifically until now
