okay this is like the third time this month the devil has shown up reversed when I'm doing shadow work pulls specifically
not in general readings, just when I'm intentionally digging into stuff I don't like about myself lol. feels significant but also I don't fully trust my own interpretation rn
like is it saying I'm actually making progress breaking free of a pattern, or is it saying I'm circling the same block over and over and not actually changing anything??
curious if anyone else gets "theme cards" that follow a specific type of reading instead of just random pulls
In all my years of shadow work, the Devil reversed showing up again and again tells me one thing: you're standing right at the threshold of real change, but haven't fully stepped through it yet.
The old ways teach us that repeated cards in a specific type of reading are rarely coincidence - your subconscious knows exactly where you're doing the real work, and it keeps showing you the same mirror until you actually look into it instead of past it.
Ask yourself honestly: have you named the pattern, or have you just noticed it? Naming is different from freeing yourself from it.
omg I get this with the hermit for some reason. it's like certain cards attach themselves to certain THEMES of readings for me too. never thought about why until now
honestly the fact you're even asking whether it's progress or not kind of answers itself?? like you're clearly paying attention which is more than a lot of people do lol
update: sat with this a few more days and realized I keep intellectualizing the pattern instead of actually changing the behavior around it lol. so I guess the card was right, just not in the way I expected. gonna actually try something different this week instead of just journaling about it
