been doing a shadow work pull most nights for the past couple weeks and the devil reversed has shown up like four separate times now
i get that upright devil is about being stuck in a pattern/attachment and reversed is usually described as "breaking free" but it doesn't feel like freedom yet, it feels more like... staring straight at the thing i keep avoiding? like it's pointing at the chain rather than showing me it's already broken
curious if anyone else has had the devil reversed as a recurring shadow work card and what it ended up meaning for you once you sat with it longer
In all my years of shadow work, a repeating reversed Devil rarely means the chain is already broken - it means you've finally turned around to look at it. That's the harder and more honest stage.
The old ways teach us that awareness always precedes freedom, never the other way around. You cannot release a bond you refuse to see clearly. If it keeps returning, it is asking you to keep looking, not to look away in relief.
Sit with the question: what does this attachment give me that makes it hard to fully release? The answer is usually not what we expect.
wait this happened to me too but with the moon reversed instead. shadow work cards really do seem to repeat until you actually get the message lol
the "pointing at the chain rather than showing it's broken" line is such a good way to put it, saving that
