did a reading about whether I should take this new job offer (it's more money but way more hours) and pulled temperance as the advice card
I get that it's about balance and moderation and all that but like... how does that actually help me decide?? is it saying take the job but set boundaries? or don't take it because it would throw off my life balance?
feeling kinda stuck here. anyone else struggle with interpreting advice cards?
oh man advice cards are the hardest to interpret imo
for temperance specifically I always think of it as "find the middle path" - so maybe it's saying the answer isn't a simple yes or no? like maybe negotiate different terms or try it for a trial period?
idk just my 2 cents
temperance always makes me think of mixing things together to create something new. like maybe you can have both? take the job but make sure to carve out non-negotiable personal time
also the angel in the card has one foot on land one in water right? feels like keeping yourself grounded while trying new things
honestly when I get advice cards that feel vague I just pull a clarifier lol
but temperance does seem to be pointing at patience too - maybe the answer will become clearer if you give it more time before deciding?
ok these are all actually really helpful thank you!!
the middle path thing makes sense. I think I was looking at it as a binary choice when maybe I need to get creative about how I approach the whole situation. gonna ask about flexible hours in the offer
found this thread while searching for temperance advice interpretations and just wanted to say thanks for posting!
i got temperance in an advice position last month about whether to move cities for a relationship. i ended up interpreting it as "find a middle ground" - so we're doing long distance for now while figuring out logistics instead of either of us making a huge leap right away
still not sure if that was the right read but it felt right? hope your job situation worked out!
ok so update for anyone who finds this thread later!!
i ended up negotiating flexible hours with the new company and they were actually super open to it?? like i was so nervous to ask but they said yes to 2 remote days a week
i think thats what temperance was trying to tell me the whole time lol. it wasnt a yes or no answer, it was like... find the middle path. dont just accept or reject, shape it into something that works
been at the new job for about a month now and honestly its going really well. the extra money is nice and i still have time for myself on remote days
thank you all so much for the advice in this thread, it genuinely helped me think about it differently instead of just stressing over a binary choice
