everywhere I look people talk about taurus and cancer like it's this super codependent combo or too clingy or whatever
me (taurus) and my partner (cancer) have been together three years now and it's honestly the calmest relationship i've ever had. we both like staying in, we both take forever to trust people, and once we do there's just this deep sense of safety
is this just a fluke or does taurus + cancer actually work better than the internet makes it sound
not a fluke at all!! my sister is taurus married to a cancer for almost a decade now. both earth/water combos tend to be really stable once trust is built, it's just a slower start than people expect
This tracks well astrologically. Taurus is a fixed earth sign and Cancer is a cardinal water sign - earth and water naturally nourish each other, similar to how soil needs water to be fertile.
Both signs also value security and home life over excitement or drama, which is why the pairing can read as "boring" to outsiders but actually just means low conflict. The slow build of trust you're describing is very on-brand for both signs - neither rushes intimacy.
Worth checking your moon signs too. If either of you has a fire or air moon, that adds a bit of spark to balance the steadiness.
