ok so I've been reading about saturn return for a while and thought I kind of understood it but now that I'm actually IN it (turning 28 next month) I genuinely have no idea what's happening to my life lol
like everything feels... unstable? I changed jobs twice this year, my relationship ended, I moved to a new city. and I KNOW these are supposed to be things that happen during saturn return but knowing that doesn't make it any less exhausting
I keep seeing people say it "builds your foundation" but rn it just feels like everything is being torn down and I can't see what's being built yet
did anyone else go through this? how long did it last for you and like... when did it start to make sense? genuinely asking bc I'm in the weeds here
omg this is EXACTLY how I felt at 27-28. the not knowing what's being built part really got me
I think it took like... 8 months? before things started clicking. hang in there honestly it's worth it on the other side
What you're describing is really classic saturn return territory - and yes, it's genuinely hard, not just metaphorically hard.
Saturn takes about 29.5 years to return to its natal position. During that transit, it essentially demands a reckoning. Whatever structures in your life aren't built on solid ground - relationships, careers, living situations - they get pressure-tested. Sometimes they hold. Sometimes they don't.
The 'foundation building' language can feel frustrating when you're in the middle of it because you're right: you can't see the foundation while it's being poured. That comes later.
A few things that might help: look at what sign your natal Saturn is in - that tells you a lot about WHERE the lessons show up. Capricorn or Scorpio Saturn will feel very different from a Libra or Gemini Saturn.
Also: the transit usually lasts 2-3 years, but the most intense pressure tends to come in waves, not continuously. You likely won't feel this level of upheaval the entire time.
went through mine a few years ago and yes the 'foundation' thing only made sense to me AFTER. during it I just thought everyone was being weirdly optimistic about a very chaotic time lol
but honestly the job changes ended up being really important. I figured out what I actually wanted vs what I thought I should want
the part about not being able to see what's being built... I felt this so much. my saturn return ended around 29 and about a year later I could look back and see the shape of it
you're doing the work even when it doesn't feel like it. that's kind of the whole thing I think
thank you all so much. MarcusAstro I looked up my natal saturn and it's in capricorn which lol makes a lot of sense given that everything feels like it's being ruthlessly audited
feeling less alone in this. gonna try to just... let the foundation pour I guess
