so I was doing a 3 card reading about a decision I need to make (do I take the new job or stay put) and pulled the hermit as my main card. asked for a clarifier because I wasn't sure what it meant in context and got... death reversed??
like is that supposed to clarify the hermit or add a whole new layer of confusion. does reversed death as a clarifier usually mean something specific or did i just make my reading way more complicated lol
curious how other people read clarifier cards when they show up reversed, especially ones that seem to contradict the main card instead of explaining it
Oh I love when the cards get layered like this! Clarifiers reversed usually aren't adding confusion on purpose - they're pointing at resistance.
The Hermit is asking you to withdraw and reflect before deciding. Death reversed as the clarifier often means you're resisting the ending that decision requires - staying because leaving feels too final, even if part of you already knows.
Trust your inner knowing here. The clarifier isn't contradicting the Hermit, it's telling you why the reflection feels so hard right now.
wait clarifiers can come up reversed too?? i genuinely didnt know that was a thing lol always learning something new here
i got a similar combo once when i was deciding whether to end a lease early. felt like the cards were just as torn as i was honestly. ended up journaling on it for like a week before it clicked - sometimes the confusing pulls are the ones that make you actually sit with the decision instead of rushing it
