ok this isn't a romance post lol, it's about my dad

he's a sagittarius and i'm a pisces and honestly growing up it felt like we were speaking two totally different languages. he processes everything by talking it out loud immediately and kind of moving on fast. i need time to feel through stuff before i can even talk about it

as a kid i used to think he just didn't care that much bc he'd bring up something heavy and then be onto the next topic in five minutes. took me a long time to realize that's just how he processes, it's not that he doesn't feel it

now that i'm older we've actually gotten so much closer once i stopped expecting him to sit in the feelings with me the way i do. i just tell him straight up 'i need a minute with this before we talk it through' and he's honestly really respectful of that now
