ok so I've always identified SO hard with being a scorpio. intense, private, deep feelings, the whole thing. it felt like the one thing astrology got 100% right about me
but then I got my full chart done and found out I'm a sagittarius rising and... I genuinely don't know what to do with that??
like my friends say I come off as super outgoing and adventurous when they first meet me. always cracking jokes, talks to everyone at parties. and I'm sitting here thinking uh that's not me at all?? except apparently it is, to literally everyone else
the scorpio stuff still feels real on the inside. but the sag rising explains why people are always surprised to find out I'm introverted or that I have this whole private emotional world
so which one is actually "me"? the person I feel like on the inside or the person people see?
has anyone else had this kind of split where your sun and rising feel totally opposite??
omg yes!! I'm a capricorn sun with a gemini rising and people never believe I'm a cap at first. I'm apparently all bubbly and chatty?? but inside I'm just... tired and organized lol
it took me a while to accept that both are real
This is such a classic sun-rising tension and honestly one of the most interesting parts of chart interpretation.
Your sun sign is your core self - the identity you inhabit when you feel safe, over time, with people who really know you. It's the "you" that has to do internal work to express.
Your rising sign (ascendant) is literally how your chart meets the world - the energy that people pick up on before you've said anything. It's not fake. It's a real part of how you operate, just less conscious.
So to answer your question: both are you. The scorpio is who you are. The sag rising is how you show up. Think of it as your social interface vs your operating system.
the operating system analogy actually makes so much sense. saving this reply forever
wait okay that actually helped a lot. I think I was treating it like one of them had to be wrong but it's more like... layers?
the sag rising explains why I can turn it on socially even when I'm drained. it's not fake it's just a different mode
