ok so growing up my mom (aries) and I (cancer) argued about EVERYTHING. like she'd want to just make a decision and go, and I'd want to talk through every feeling first, and she'd get so impatient with me

it's gotten better as I've gotten older honestly. I used to take her bluntness so personally, like she didn't care, but now I get that's just how she processes things - fast and direct. she's not trying to hurt me, she just doesn't slow down

we had a huge blowup a couple years ago about me feeling unheard and honestly? it was the best thing that happened to us. she actually sat still long enough to listen for once and I told her I needed her to check in more instead of just charging ahead with decisions that affect both of us

now we've got this weird rhythm where she gives me the push I need and I give her the pause she needs. still bicker about small stuff constantly but it doesn't feel like a wall anymore
