ok so I matched with this guy on hinge about two weeks ago and we've been texting every day since. the connection feels SO intense already and we haven't even met yet
and then I looked at his profile more and saw he's a scorpio. I'm an aries.
I know I know, water and fire. I've read about this pairing before and got kind of scared? like scorpio is supposed to be super intense and secretive and aries (me) is just very... loud and upfront about everything lol
has anyone actually dated a scorpio as an aries? is the intensity just way too much or can it actually work?
we have a first date next week and now I'm kind of in my head about it
omg do NOT cancel that date!! I'm an aries who dated a scorpio for almost two years and the chemistry is genuinely unlike anything else
yes it's intense but in the best way. they match your energy in a completely different way than fire signs do. my scorpio actually helped me slow down and think before I acted which... I needed lol
Aries-Scorpio is one of those pairings that gets a bad reputation but is actually really fascinating from an astrological standpoint.
Both signs are traditionally ruled by Mars - Scorpio now has Pluto as its modern ruler, but that martial energy is still there. So you're not as different as you think. You both have drive, passion, and intensity. The difference is HOW it expresses: Aries is direct and immediate, Scorpio is strategic and deep.
The real thing to watch for isn't incompatibility - it's pace. Aries tends to want things to move fast, Scorpio needs trust to build slowly before they open up. If you can give him a little room to let his walls come down on his own timeline, you'll find there's a LOT underneath.
The first date connection might actually surprise you. Scorpio is one of the few signs that can hold Aries' full attention.
following this because I'm a scorpio who's always been drawn to aries people lol
from the scorpio side: we do go slow with trust but once we're in, we're IN. the loyalty thing is real. just be patient at first and don't take the guardedness personally
ok this is all making me feel so much better!! MarcusAstro the mars connection thing blew my mind actually, I had no idea scorpio was ever associated with mars
and starrynightvibes that perspective from the scorpio side is super helpful. I think I have been a little impatient in texting lol. going to go on the date and just enjoy it. will report back!!
UPDATE: ok I went on the date and... yeah. it was a lot in the best possible way??
we talked for like 3 hours and he asked questions I've never been asked on a first date. like actually curious about how I think about things, not just small talk
I did notice he got a little quiet when I jumped to a new topic fast lol. working on my aries impulse to say everything immediately
we have a second date next week. will keep reporting back because apparently I live here now
I KNEW IT!! "talked for 3 hours and he asked real questions" is peak scorpio first date energy
also the getting quiet when you jump topics thing - yes, work on that lol. they like to actually finish a thought before moving on. but it sounds like you're already clocking it which is huge
ok I've been lurking on this thread since the beginning and the update absolutely sent me 😭
three hours on a first date is SO scorpio it's not even funny. they do NOT do small talk lol
I'm a taurus and dated an aries for a while and even I could see how different the energy was when one of my scorpio friends got with an aries... like the chemistry was just on another level. almost uncomfortable to be around tbh
the topic-jumping thing is so real though. my aries ex would be mid-sentence about one thing and then completely pivot to something else and I'd be like... wait we weren't done?? 😂
rooting for you!! keep us posted
