so I know sag and cap get a lot of flack for being too different but honestly?? we work
me: sag sun, always wanting to book random trips, hates routines, says yes to everything him: cap sun, plans vacations 8 months in advance, loves his spreadsheets, says maybe to everything lol
the first few years were ROUGH. I felt like he was trying to cage me and he felt like I was being irresponsible. we almost didnt make it past year 3 tbh
but somewhere around year 5 we figured out the balance. he grounds me when I get too scattered and I push him to actually enjoy life sometimes. he jokes that I taught him how to be spontaneous (within reason) and I learned that some planning isnt the enemy
the secret for us has been: he handles the big stuff (finances, house stuff, long term planning) and I handle making sure we actually LIVE and have fun. and we check in with each other constantly
anyway just wanted to share for anyone whos nervous about this combo. it takes work but what relationship doesnt
ooh I actually checked our charts years ago! his venus is in sag (lol explains a lot) and mine is in scorpio. our moons are both in earth signs tho which I think helps a ton with feeling secure together
omg this gives me hope!! im a sag dating a cap for 6 months and sometimes I feel like we're speaking different languages
the spreadsheet thing is SO real lol. he has a spreadsheet for EVERYTHING
This is such a great example of how sun sign compatibility isn't the whole picture. Sagittarius and Capricorn are adjacent signs, which can actually create a lovely complementary dynamic once you work through the initial friction.
The mutable fire (Sag) brings adaptability and vision, while cardinal earth (Cap) provides structure and follow-through. When these energies learn to work together instead of against each other, you get a partnership that can both dream AND build.
I'd be curious about your Venus and Mars placements - often couples who "shouldn't" work have nice aspects in those relationship planets that smooth things out.

my parents are actually this combo too and theyve been together 30+ years. I think you're right that its about finding the balance
