ok so I know everyone says leo and aquarius are "opposites" and it's either amazing or a disaster. and honestly... both are kind of true lol
but we've been together almost 3 years now and I feel like we cracked the code, so I wanted to share
I'm a leo (sun + rising) and my partner is a full-on aquarius - like sun, moon, mercury all aquarius. very... a lot.
what actually works for us:
we give each other SPACE. like actual space. I used to feel rejected when he'd go off into his brain for hours but now I get it - he comes back so much more present and loving. and he's learned that when I want to do something fun or social, it's not me being superficial, it's how I recharge
he makes me think bigger. I can get caught up in my little world and what people think of me, and he just... doesn't care about any of that. it's kind of liberating honestly
I help him feel things. aquarius people can get so stuck in their heads about everything. sometimes he'll be analyzing a situation forever and I'm like babe just feel it for a second
the hard part is definitely the emotional stuff. he expresses love so differently than me and it took a while to stop reading his detachment as rejection. once I understood that him trusting me with his weird little theories and problems IS his love language... it clicked

omg this is so relatable!! I'm a leo dating an aquarius and the "detachment as rejection" thing hit so hard
it took me forever to realize he wasn't pulling away, that's just... how he is lol
@WillowBreeze honestly the best advice I can give is just ask him directly. aquarius people usually prefer just saying things straight rather than playing games. leos and aquarians both hate mind games for different reasons lol

@stellarwave so glad it helped!! the detachment thing took me a really long time too. honestly the game changer for me was asking him directly "do you want to be here" instead of reading his quietness as the answer
aquarians are usually super honest, they're just not always volunteering that info unprompted

@ember_and_air yes exactly this!! the coming back "fully present" part is so real, once you stop panicking during the quiet phase it stops feeling like rejection at all
reading this whole thread at 2am with my leo/aquarius situationship notes open lol. the space vs rejection thing is going to live in my head for a while
