ok so I did a full celtic cross spread last night and the king of cups reversed landed in the crossing position (position 2, the card that crosses you)
the rest of the spread felt pretty positive but this one is throwing me off. like does it represent me? someone else in my life? an energy I need to watch out for?
I always thought king of cups reversed was about emotional unavailability or manipulation but idk if that reads the same in the crossing position
has anyone gotten this card in a celtic cross and figured out how to interpret it? I feel like spread position changes everything with this one
the crossing position is SO tricky with court cards honestly. I always struggle with whether it's a person or an energy
I usually ask myself if there's a real person in my life who fits that description... if yes, probably them. if not, probably an aspect of yourself
The cards whisper so much in the crossing position! This is actually one of my favorite placements to interpret.
The crossing card shows what's working against or complicating your central situation - not necessarily a person, but an energy. King of cups reversed here often signals that emotional suppression is the core obstacle. Are you avoiding a difficult feeling? Intellectualizing something instead of sitting with it?
It can also represent someone in your life who's emotionally shut down or inconsistent. Trust your gut - when you first saw that card, what or who did you immediately think of? That first instinct is usually right.
Your inner knowing led you to this spread for a reason.
I got king of cups reversed in position 4 (foundation) once and it took me like two weeks to fully understand it. spread positions really do shift everything
Sarah K's advice about the first instinct is so good. I always try to write down my immediate gut reaction before I start analyzing
omg ok yes the first instinct thing... I immediately thought of my dad when I flipped it and then talked myself out of it lol
I think that's probably my answer. thank you both so much this is really helpful
