okay so I feel like I never fully understood the difference between two of swords upright vs reversed until this week lol
upright I get - the blindfolded indecision, avoiding a choice, weighing two options that both kind of suck. but reversed showed up in a reading about a decision I've been putting off for MONTHS and I genuinely can't tell if it means the block is finally lifting or if I'm about to make a decision out of pure exhaustion instead of clarity
how do you all tell the difference? like is reversed always "the fog is clearing" or can it also mean "you're about to choose wrong just to make it stop"
Historically speaking, reversed swords cards tend to signal a resolution that is forced rather than one that emerges organically. The Two of Swords upright is a held tension - a deliberate pause. Reversed, that tension breaks, but the symbolism doesn't tell you whether it broke because you finally saw clearly or because you simply ran out of patience for sitting with it.
A useful diagnostic: clarity tends to feel calm, even if the decision itself is hard. Exhaustion-driven choices tend to feel urgent, like you just need it to be over. Notice which one your body is telling you right now.
the exhaustion thing STILL rings true for me, thats exactly what happened last time i got this card reversed. made a call just to stop thinking about it and regretted the timing (not the decision itself, just how rushed it felt)
following this bc I got the same card last week and could not figure out which version it was for me. gonna sit with it a bit longer before deciding anything
