pulled the devil reversed today after journaling about a habit i've been trying to break
i get that upright it's like... temptation, feeling stuck, obsession. but reversed everyone says something different?? some people say it means breaking free, others say it means you're still stuck just in denial about it
how do you personally tell the difference when you pull it. like whats the actual distinguishing factor for you
for me it depends on the rest of the spread honestly. if there's cards around it that feel hopeful (like the star or ace of cups) i lean toward breaking free. if its surrounded by like nine of swords or five of pentacles i read it as still stuck but starting to see it
i always thought reversed devil = awareness, not necessarily freedom yet. like you SEE the chains now even if you haven't taken them off
the awareness vs freedom distinction is so helpful actually, i think mine was more the awareness stage lol. explains a lot
