pulled nine of swords upright a few weeks ago during a rough patch (surprise surprise, the anxiety card showing up during an anxious week lol) and today it came up reversed in like the exact same spot of a new reading
i get that upright is basically 3am spiraling, worst case scenario thinking, cant sleep energy. but reversed... does that mean the anxiety just stops? or is it more like youre finally facing the thing instead of drowning in it
kind of want to know where other people draw the line between the two before i just make something up in my head lol
This is such a good question because the two really do live in different worlds. Upright Nine of Swords is the spiral - the mind running worst-case scenarios in the dark, alone with the fear.
Reversed often signals the turning point right after that: the moment you finally speak the fear out loud, or the anxiety starts to loosen its grip because you're no longer avoiding it. It's not that the worry vanishes overnight - it's that you stop carrying it in silence.
Trust your inner knowing here. If it showed up reversed for you, ask what you've been ready to finally say out loud.
omg this is timely, I got the same card reversed last month and it was SO true for me. I'd been sitting on something stressful for weeks and the day after that pull I finally told my roommate what was actually bothering me lol. instant relief
I always think of reversed nine of swords as "the worst has already happened and you survived it" energy vs upright being "the worst hasn't happened yet but your brain thinks it has" if that makes sense
these replies are honestly so helpful, thank you!! @quietcomet that distinction just clicked something for me. going to sit with this instead of overthinking it into the ground lol
