ok so I've been pulling the knight of wands pretty often lately in different positions and I'm noticing the upright vs reversed feels like two completely different people to me??
upright he's all passion and charging forward and full of fire, like yeah let's GO. but reversed he feels like... restless energy that has nowhere to go? or like someone who starts twenty things and finishes zero lol
but I've also seen people say reversed just means the upright energy is blocked or delayed, not flipped. and that confuses me because sometimes when I get him reversed it really does feel like a different vibe entirely
how do you all read reversals in general? do you treat reversed knight of wands as like... the shadow side of his personality, or more like the same guy just slowed down?
I'm trying to figure out my own system and it keeps changing on me 😅
honestly same!! upright he's like a puppy with too much energy in the best way, reversed feels like that puppy got into trouble lol
I read reversed as the shadow side personally. blocked or distorted version of the energy rather than just delayed
Such a great question, and you're not wrong to notice that distinction!
For the Knight of Wands specifically, I find reversals really do shift the quality of the energy, not just the speed. Upright he's boldly charging forward with confidence. Reversed that fire energy often turns inward - restlessness, scattered focus, impulsive decisions without follow-through.
The cards whisper that context matters too. In an advice position reversed might mean slow down, channel that fire more intentionally. In an outcome position it might be pointing to someone in your situation with that scattered energy.
Trust your instincts though - if reversed feels like a genuinely different archetype to you, that's your intuition building your system. There's no single right way.
I went through this exact thing when I started reading!! spent weeks trying to figure out if reversals meant opposite, blocked, delayed, or shadow...
finally just decided to let each card tell me. knight of wands reversed almost always feels like scattered/burnout energy to me, not just slowed down
the blocked vs shadow distinction is really helpful framing actually. gonna think about this more
