pulled ace of cups upright allllll the time when I started reading (new emotional beginnings, love, that kind of thing) but lately its been showing up reversed a lot and I genuinely can't tell if im just reading it as "the bad version" or if theres an actual different meaning
like is it just blocked love/emotions or is there more nuance to it? trying to actually understand reversals instead of just flipping the meaning in my head lol
Such a good question, and one worth sitting with rather than rushing past.
Upright, the Ace of Cups is an offering - a cup overflowing, ready to be received. Reversed, the cup often tips inward instead of out. The love or emotion is still there, it's just turned toward guarding rather than sharing.
Sometimes it points to emotional blockage, sometimes to someone (maybe you) holding back out of fear of being hurt again. Ask yourself: is the cup empty, or is it just closed?
Trust your inner knowing on which one feels true for your situation.
omg this happened to me during a rough patch with my partner. Ace of cups reversed kept showing up and I finally realized it was pointing at ME not opening up, not the relationship being doomed lol. once I actually started talking about my feelings instead of bottling everything the cards shifted
following this bc I got the same card yesterday and was fully panicking lol. the "is the cup empty or just closed" thing is gonna live in my head now
