my best friend is a gemini and i love her to death but sometimes i feel like we're speaking two different languages lol
i need to sit with my feelings for a bit before i can talk about them. she just wants to talk it out immediately, out loud, sometimes before she's even figured out what she thinks yet. it used to stress me out so much because i felt rushed into a conversation before i was ready
anyone else navigate this? cancer + gemini friends or partners, how do you make the communication styles actually work instead of just talking past each other
omg yes im a cancer with a gemini partner and this is SO real. i finally just told him i need a "give me an hour" pass before big conversations and it helped so much once he understood it wasnt me shutting him out
following bc my sister is exactly like this and i never knew how to explain why it bothered me. the "talking before she knows what she thinks" thing is such a good way to put it
update: tried the "give me a bit to think and then lets talk" approach and it actually went really well. she said she never realized i needed that and now she just asks "do you need think time or can we talk now" which honestly feels like such a small thing but it changed a lot
the 'do you need think time or can we talk now' line is so good, stealing that phrasing for my own gemini bestie lol. never thought to just directly ask instead of assuming
update from my side too, showed my sister this thread lowkey and now she actually asks before launching into stuff. genuinely didn't expect one forum thread to fix a decade of miscommunication but here we are
