ok so I need advice. my best friend is a sagittarius and I love her to death but she is SO blunt it sometimes leaves me speechless
like I'll ask her opinion on something and she just... says exactly what she thinks. no filter. no softening it. just straight up honesty
as a cancer rising I'm not always ready for that lol
how do you communicate with sags without getting your feelings hurt? or is the trick just to not ask if you're not ready to hear the truth??
omg I grew up with a sagittarius sister and honestly same. at some point I just had to accept that she's not trying to be mean, she genuinely thinks she's being helpful lol
the trick I learned: don't ask for her opinion unless you actually want it. if you just need validation, find someone else for that. save the sag friend for when you need REAL talk
What you're experiencing is classic Sagittarius energy - ruled by Jupiter, they're the sign of truth-seeking and expansion. They genuinely believe that honesty is the highest form of respect.
A few things that help when communicating with Sag placements:
The thing is, a Sagittarius who softens the truth actually feels like they're lying. Understanding that reframes it a lot.
I'm a sagittarius and honestly this is painfully accurate lol. we genuinely do not understand why saying true things is a problem
but I've learned to ask 'do you want honesty or do you want support?' before I answer now. took me a while but it helps a lot with my more sensitive friends
wait the 'what kind of support do you need' thing is actually genius. I'm going to try that with her. also Sarah82 it's weirdly reassuring to hear it from the sag perspective, thank you!
I think I've been taking it too personally when it's just... how she processes the world. still adjusting but this helps
omg I relate to this SO much. my partner is a sag and I used to take everything he said way too personally
like he'd say "that dress isn't your best look" and I'd spiral for hours lol. but over time I figured out that for sags, honesty IS love?? like they're not trying to hurt you, they just literally don't see the point in sugarcoating
what helped me was just being upfront about what I needed before I asked. like "I'm not looking for critique here, just hype" and honestly he was totally fine with that. they're weirdly adaptable once they know the rules
still catches me off guard sometimes but I've learned to appreciate it. I know he'll never just tell me what I want to hear, which means when he does say something nice it actually means something
omg reading this comforted me so much. my roommate is a sadge and I used to get so defensive every time she gave her honest opinion lol. started asking her straight up "are you telling me this bc you think it'll help or just bc it's true" and it's genuinely made things so much smoother between us
