ok so my boyfriend is a libra and I love him but sometimes I genuinely don't know how to get through to him
like when I have a feeling I need to talk about, I want to just... go there. dive in. feel it together. but he wants to weigh every option first and won't commit to even like, having an opinion until he's thought about it from seventeen angles
and then I get frustrated waiting and he thinks I'm being too intense and we just kinda... spiral
it's not that we fight a lot, it's more that I feel like we're speaking different languages? I come in with my heart open and he comes in with a list of pros and cons lol
anyone else cancer + libra? how do you actually get on the same page without one of you shutting down

what helped me was giving him a heads up before a serious talk, like "hey can we chat about something tonight" instead of just launching into it. libras need that prep time i think, they panic when put on the spot
This is such a classic water + air tension and honestly it's one of the most workable ones once you understand what's happening.
Cancer communicates from the gut - you feel first, then speak. Libra communicates from the mind - they think first, then feel. Neither is wrong, they're just opposite entry points.
The key is that Libra actually craves harmony and connection just as much as Cancer does - they just need to intellectualize before they can emotionally land. If you can signal that the conversation is "safe" (no right/wrong, no judgment), Libras open up fast.
Try framing things less as "I feel hurt" (which can feel like an accusation to them) and more as "can we figure this out together" - that activates their partnership instinct instead of their defense mechanism. Cancer intuition + Libra diplomacy is actually a really beautiful combo when it clicks.
the "seventeen angles" thing cracked me up because yes. exactly that.
my libra sister is the same way. once I stopped taking her hesitation personally and realized she wasn't avoiding the conversation, just... processing it differently, things got so much easier between us

like instead of just crying at him out of nowhere (lol) I texted him earlier in the day like "hey I want to talk tonight about something that's been on my mind" and he came in SO much more prepared. less deer in headlights energy
still not perfect but honestly the biggest thing for me was what MarcusAstro said about us literally processing in different ways. once I stopped taking his "let me think about it" as rejection it just... stopped feeling so bad

I'm also a cancer with a libra partner and the "different languages" thing is SO accurate. I used to think he just didn't care because he wouldn't immediately feel things with me
but slowly I've realized he processes everything in his head first and then brings it to me once he's sorted it out. and I actually trust his take more because of it?? like he's thought it through
still drives me a little crazy sometimes but it's gotten way better once I understood that about him
