ok so I've been doing tarot for about a year now and I'm getting more into astrology too. but I'm not sure how to actually use them together??
like do you look at your chart before doing a reading? or pull cards for specific transits? I see people talking about "astrological spreads" but idk where to start
would love to hear how other people mix these two practices. do you keep them separate or do they inform each other?
ooh I love this question! personally I check my transits before big readings. like if saturn is doing something intense I know to expect heavier cards showing up
also I assign cards to different signs/planets which helps me read them. like the empress = venus energy, the tower = mars/uranus, etc
I do full moon and new moon tarot spreads based on what sign the moon is in! so like a scorpio full moon I might do a shadow work spread, pisces new moon something about intuition and dreams
it adds so much depth once you start connecting them
ok wait the moon sign spread idea is so cool?? I never even thought about using my moon sign as a starting point for a reading
I'm a cancer moon so im def gonna try pulling cards specifically around emotional stuff and see if it hits different. will report back lol
also indigo_rain the planet-card thing is really interesting, do you have like a reference for which cards go with which planets or is it more intuitive
jumping in bc I do something kinda similar! I use the element of whatever sign season we're in to pick my spread deck
like during fire sign seasons I reach for my more bold decks and pull with questions about motivation and action, and water sign seasons I go for gentler decks and focus on emotions and intuition
it's not super technical but honestly it helps me stay connected to the overall energy without overthinking it. sometimes simple is better idk
