okay this is going to sound dramatic but the hermit reversed has shown up in like 4 different pulls over the past couple weeks, always when I'm doing shadow work stuff
upright hermit is all about needed solitude and inner wisdom, but reversed feels different?? like isolation instead of reflection. or maybe avoiding the thing im supposed to be looking at
anyone else get this specifically during shadow work sessions? trying to figure out if its telling me to keep going deeper or that im using the "alone time" as an excuse to not actually deal with stuff lol
In all my years of shadow work, I've seen the Hermit reversed show up exactly like this - it's rarely a sign to stop. More often it's pointing at the difference between solitude that heals and isolation that hides.
Ask yourself honestly: when you retreat inward right now, are you sitting with the discomfort or avoiding it? The old ways teach us that the lantern in the Hermit's hand only lights the path when we're willing to look at what it shows us.
ugh this is calling me out. I've been using "shadow work" as an excuse to just... not talk to anyone for like 2 weeks lol. might need to sit with this one
@duskmoth honestly same, that's kind of what made me start questioning it too. gonna try journaling through it instead of just sitting in silence and see if that shifts anything. thanks for the perspective everyone, this actually helped a lot
