my partner is aquarius and im a cancer and honestly most of it is great but theres this one thing we keep circling back to
i process everything through feelings first, he processes through logic first, and when something upsets me hell go straight into "ok but objectively is this actually a big deal" mode before i even feel heard. drives me up the wall some days
hes not wrong that i can spiral over small stuff sometimes lol but i just need the feeling acknowledged before the analysis, you know?
weve gotten better - hes learned to just say "that sounds really hard" first now and save the logic for after ive calmed down. but curious if other cancer+aquarius pairs deal with this same push-pull or if its just us
omg the "objectively is this a big deal" thing is SO aquarius coded lol. my aquarius friend does this to literally everyone, not just partners
Looking at this from a chart perspective - Cancer and Aquarius are opposite signs, which tends to show up exactly like what you're describing: cardinal water (feel first) directly across from fixed air (think first).
The good news is oppositions aren't inherently incompatible, they just need a sequencing agreement. What your partner figured out - naming the feeling before moving to logic - is honestly the textbook fix here. It gives your water sign the acknowledgment it needs before your air sign gets to do what air signs do best, which is analyze.
The fact that he adjusted his approach instead of just insisting he's 'right' to be logical says a lot about the relationship, for what it's worth.
im the aquarius in my relationship (partner is a cancer) and ngl reading this from his side is helpful, i didnt realize how much the straight-to-logic thing could feel dismissive even when i dont mean it that way
this thread is really helpful, especially @MarcusAstro's point about needing the emotional landing pad before the logic - explains why "that sounds really hard" specifically worked so well for us
