ok so I pulled the eight of swords reversed for the first time last night and I'm kind of spiraling lol
asked about a work situation I've been feeling stuck in and got 8 of swords rev in the present position. I've read that upright is basically "trapped by your own thoughts" so I assumed reversed would be some kind of relief?? but then I looked it up more and some sources make it sound almost worse
is reversed always the negative flip of the upright meaning or can it actually be a good sign here. genuinely can't tell if I should be hopeful or worried
Oh I love this question because it comes up so often! The cards whisper release here, not doom.
The Eight of Swords upright is about self-imposed limitation - feeling trapped by fear or a narrow view of your options. Reversed usually means that mental fog is starting to lift. You're beginning to see the way out, even if you haven't stepped through it yet.
Trust your inner knowing on this one - if you're already questioning the story you've been telling yourself about being "stuck," that's the card doing exactly what it's meant to do.
honestly this happened to me too and it ended up being one of the more hopeful reversals for me. like the release/untying energy is real
following this bc I got the same card in a relationship reading last week and had NO idea what to think lol. this thread is helping
update: talked to my manager today about the workload stuff I'd been avoiding bringing up. still figuring out next steps but I feel so much less trapped already, wild how accurate that felt
