ok so I've been reading tarot for maybe 6 months now and this is the first time I've ever pulled the nine of pentacles reversed
I was asking about my career/financial situation and tbh I was expecting something positive because things have been going well lately?? like I just got a raise and I've been feeling pretty independent and secure
but then this shows up reversed and idk what to think. I always thought reversed cards = bad but maybe I'm wrong?
do you guys read reversals as strictly negative or is there more nuance to it? especially for a card that's usually so positive upright
oh no reversals definitely aren't always negative!! with the nine of pentacles reversed specifically, I usually read it as a check-in about self-worth or maybe overworking yourself to maintain that independence
like you got the raise which is great but... are you burning out to keep it? just something to think about
Welcome to the wonderful world of reversals! The cards whisper differently when they flip, but it's rarely a simple "good vs bad" situation.
The Nine of Pentacles reversed often speaks to the shadow side of independence - perhaps isolation, or sacrificing too much for financial security. With your raise, ask yourself: what are you giving up to maintain this success?
It can also point to imposter syndrome. You've achieved something wonderful, but part of you might not fully believe you deserve it yet. Trust your inner knowing on which interpretation resonates.
Reversals are invitations to look deeper, not warnings of doom.
following because I pull this card reversed all the time and never know what to do with it lol
the imposter syndrome thing sarah mentioned hits hard tho...
omg the imposter syndrome thing... yeah that actually makes so much sense. I keep waiting for someone to realize I don't deserve this raise lol
thank you all this is so helpful!! I feel way less stressed about it now
