ok so I've been reading for about 6 months and today I pulled the Death card reversed for the first time ever and honestly... I panicked a little??
I know Death upright is supposed to be about transformation, not literal death (I've done my homework lol). but reversed? I have no idea what that means and my brain just went straight to worst case scenario
is reversed Death like... double bad? or is it actually better than upright somehow? I'm so confused
my question was a general "what energy am I working with right now" type pull so there's no specific situation, just a daily check-in. now I'm kind of dreading the whole day tbh
omg I had the EXACT same reaction my first time getting death reversed. literally put the deck down for like 20 minutes lol
but once I looked it up I felt so much better. it's really not as scary as it sounds
Oh sweet soul, take a breath! Death reversed is one of those cards that looks intimidating but carries such important wisdom.
Where Death upright says "transformation is happening," Death reversed whispers "you're resisting the change that needs to come." It's not double-bad at all - it's actually a gentle nudge asking: where are you clinging to something that's already run its course?
For a general daily pull, I'd read it as an invitation to reflect. Is there a habit, a situation, a way of thinking you've been holding onto a little too tightly? The cards aren't warning you of doom - they're pointing at a door you haven't opened yet.
Trust your inner knowing. What comes up when you sit with that question?
honestly death reversed became one of my favorite cards once I understood it. upright means change is already happening but reversed means YOU get to choose when to let go
which is kind of empowering if you think about it
ok this is so helpful, thank you everyone!! Sarah K the way you explained the door thing actually clicked for me
I did some journaling and I think it's about a friendship that's kind of faded but I've been pretending is still the same as it used to be. gonna sit with that today instead of dreading it
