eight of wands reversed in the future position... is this a delay or something worse??

ok so I did a 3-card spread about a project I've been working on for months and pulled:

past: ace of pentacles present: knight of wands future: eight of wands reversed

the past and present make total sense - I started something new and I've been going hard on it. but then the eight of wands reversed in the future?? that's the one card that just gave me pause

I know eight of wands upright is like... fast movement, things coming together quickly. so does the reversal mean everything just... stops? or like a significant delay?

or is it actually a warning sign, like slow down before you crash?

idk I might be catastrophizing but I really want this project to succeed and now I'm second-guessing everything. anyone dealt with this card in a future position before?

oof I felt this. I pulled eight of wands reversed in a future position once about a move I was planning and honestly it just meant the timeline shifted - things took longer than expected but it still worked out

I think the delay interpretation is usually more accurate than "warning of doom" lol

wait Sarah K's read on this is really good. the knight of wands -> eight of wands reversed combo actually makes a lot of sense as like... you've been sprinting and the future card is telling you to course correct before the energy burns out

I think I've been trying to do like 5 things at once with this project and spreading myself thin. maybe the card is just telling me to focus in on what actually matters

I pulled eight of wands reversed in the future spot during a job search reading a few months back and honestly panicked a little. thought it meant I'd never hear back from anyone lol

but what actually happened was — the job I thought I wanted fell through, and then like two weeks later a completely different opportunity came up that fit me WAY better. the "delay" was really just the universe going "not that one, wait for this one"

so yeah, redirect not abandon is real. good luck with your project!! sounds like you're on a really interesting path already with that ace of pentacles as your foundation

small update - i actually sat down and cut two side projects i'd been dragging along out of guilt. things already feel less stuck.

still dont know exactly how the project itself will land but at least im not spread so thin anymore lol. thank you all again
