been doing shadow work journaling for like 2 months now and eight of swords reversed has shown up SO many times, more than any other card by far
logically i know it's about releasing self-imposed limitations, untying the blindfold, realizing you were never actually trapped. but every time i see it i just feel this wave of ugh, here we go again
is it normal for one card to basically attach itself to a specific type of inner work? or should i be reading more into why it specifically keeps choosing me lol
curious if anyone else has had a card become like... their shadow work mascot
Oh, this is such a meaningful pattern, not a coincidence at all.
When a card attaches itself to a specific practice like this, the cards are often mirroring exactly where your growth edge is. Eight of Swords reversed is the release of self-imposed limitation - the moment you realize the ropes were never actually tied that tight.
Since you're doing shadow work specifically, it makes sense this card keeps whispering to you. It's not punishing you, it's confirming you're doing the work correctly. Trust that the repetition is encouragement, not a warning.
What beliefs have you been untangling lately? That might be exactly what the card keeps circling back to.
omg yes the hermit did this to me for a solid month during a period where i needed way more alone time than i was giving myself lol. cards definitely seem to latch on sometimes
wait this is making me want to track my pulls more carefully, do you journal every single card you get or just the ones that feel significant?
sarah k that question about what beliefs i've been untangling actually stopped me in my tracks. i think i've been assuming i need permission from other people before i make changes in my life, and i clearly don't
pepper_j i journal every pull now, it's the only reason i even noticed the pattern honestly
