ok so I've been miserable at this job for like two years but always found reasons to stay (benefits, comfort, fear of starting over etc)
asked the cards what I needed to see about it and pulled the eight of swords reversed
i know upright is about feeling trapped/self imposed limits but reversed... does that mean the trap is loosening? like am I finally seeing a way out or is it warning me I'm about to talk myself into staying again lol
curious how you all read this one when it shows up around a decision like this
Oh this is such a hopeful card to receive in this context! The cards whisper release here...
Eight of Swords reversed often means the blindfold is coming off - you're starting to see that the walls around you were never as solid as they felt. The blocks were mostly self-imposed, and reversed tells us awareness is returning.
It's not guaranteeing the decision will be easy, but it is telling you that clarity is available to you right now if you're willing to look. Trust your inner knowing on this - you already sense which parts of the fear are real and which are just old habits of staying small.
I got this exact card when I was trying to leave a bad living situation, not job related but same energy. for me it meant I already had everything I needed to leave, I was just so used to feeling stuck that I hadn't noticed the door was open. hope that helps a little
update: gave notice this morning. terrifying but also the first time in months I've felt like I could actually breathe. thank you both, the 'door was open the whole time' thing really stuck with me
