asked about whether I should push for that promotion at work and pulled the eight of pentacles reversed
my first thought was great, the cards think im lazy. but then I read a bit more and some sites say its more about burnout or feeling like your effort isnt being noticed?
ive definitely been going through the motions lately, not exactly phoning it in but not my usual detail-obsessed self either
anyone pulled this for work stuff before? trying to figure out if its telling me to recommit or step back for a sec
omg I got this exact card during a work reading too. for me it was less "you're lazy" and more "you're pouring effort into the wrong things." made me realize I was perfecting stuff nobody even asked for lol
I always read reversed 8 of pentacles as burnout tbh, not laziness. like the upright is grinding away happily and the reversed is grinding away resentfully if that makes sense
the "grinding away resentfully" thing hit different lol. took a genuine day off this week instead of just powering through and honestly came back way more focused. maybe that was the point
