asked what I should do about a work thing thats been stressing me out and pulled the emperor reversed as the advice card
like... is it telling me to NOT be so controlling about the outcome? or is it saying stop letting other people run the show? because those feel like opposite instructions lol
every site i check has a slightly different spin on it. some say its about loosening your grip, others say its about setting boundaries you've been too scared to set
how do you actually tell which one it means for your situation
Oh I love this question because both readings you mentioned ARE the card, just two sides of the same lesson.
The Emperor upright is healthy structure and authority. Reversed as advice, the cards whisper that you're out of balance with control somewhere - either gripping too tight, or having handed your power away to someone else.
Ask yourself honestly: in this work situation, am I micromanaging something I need to let breathe, or am I shrinking and letting someone else dictate terms that should be mine to set? Your gut will know which one lands. Trust your inner knowing here.
the way you described it is literally so relatable, i got this exact card for a similar reason and it took me a few days to realize it was about ME being the control freak lol not the other way around
following this bc i never know how to tell which direction a reversed card is pointing either
honestly i think sitting with both meanings for a day or two helps more than trying to force an answer right away, one usually starts to feel more true the more you think about the actual situation
