asked what i should do about sticking out my job another year or looking elsewhere and pulled the eight of cups reversed as advice??
like upright i totally get, its about walking away when something isnt fulfilling anymore. but reversed... in the ADVICE spot specifically... is it saying dont leave yet? or is it saying stop being scared and actually go?
ive read like 4 different interpretations at this point and none of them agree lol. does anyone read reversed cards differently when theyre in an advice position vs like, an outcome position?
Oh this is such a good question, and one I get a lot actually.
Advice position cards work a little differently than outcome cards - they're less "here's what's coming" and more "here's the energy to work with." Reversed eight of cups as advice usually isn't telling you to stay OR go outright. It's asking you to look honestly at WHY leaving feels so hard right now.
Are you staying because there's genuinely more to learn here, or because leaving feels scary and unfamiliar? The cards whisper the question, not always the answer. Trust your inner knowing to sit with that for a bit before deciding.
omg the advice vs outcome position thing is something i never think about either. i usually just read every reversed card the same way lol, definitely gonna pay more attention to that now
i got a similar card as advice once when deciding on a move and honestly sitting with the "why does this feel hard" question like Sarah K said was way more useful than trying to get a straight yes/no from the cards
update: sat with the "why does leaving feel hard" question for a few days like yall suggested. turns out i was staying out of fear of starting over, not because the job actually has more for me. decided to start looking around, feels like the right call now that i actually named it lol. thank you all
