asked what I should do about a friendship thats been feeling one-sided lately and pulled 8 of cups reversed in the advice spot
like is it telling me to stay and keep trying? or is it telling me im the one avoiding leaving something i already know isnt working
every article i read says something different lol. upright is walk away, so does reversed mean... dont walk away? or walk away but for the wrong reasons? im so confused
ok this is such a good question bc I never know what to do with reversed cards in the advice position either
I always read reversed 8 of cups as advice more like "stop circling the decision and actually decide" rather than pick a specific direction. like the card is calling out the avoidance itself
Historically speaking, the 8 of cups depicts someone walking away from something outwardly stable in search of deeper meaning. Reversed, it often points to a stalled version of that journey - fear of the unknown keeping you tethered to something you've already outgrown.
In an advice position specifically, I'd read it less as "stay" or "go" and more as a prompt to examine what fear is driving the hesitation itself.
the fear of the unknown part really got me. I think thats exactly whats happening with my situation too honestly
found this searching for the same card lol. i had almost the exact same pull about a group chat that stopped feeling worth it and i think the "stop circling, actually decide" read is so much more useful than trying to guess stay-or-go from the card alone
