asked what I should do about a decision I've been putting off (whether to move for a job) and pulled temperance reversed as the advice card
like... ok so balance is off somewhere but that's not exactly actionable?? was hoping for something clearer lol
I keep reading it as "stop trying to have it all figured out perfectly before you act" but idk if that's actually right or if im just making it mean what I want it to mean
how do you all interpret temperance reversed when it shows up as advice specifically
I love this question because advice position cards are meant to be a little uncomfortable - they're pointing at the thing you're avoiding, not handing you a script.
Temperance reversed as advice often means: stop trying to blend every option into one perfect middle ground. Sometimes the moderation itself is the excess. You may be over-mixing, overthinking, seeking a balance that doesn't exist yet because the decision genuinely requires a leap.
Ask yourself - am I using "weighing my options" as a socially acceptable way to stall?
oof the "balance itself might be the excess" line just wrecked me a little
I get temperance rx a lot when I'm trying to please everyone in a situation instead of just picking a lane. maybe that's part of it too?
update: sat with this for a few days and I think yall are right, I was using "more research" as a way to avoid just deciding. put in for the job today lol, terrifying but feels right
