ok so I've been going back and forth on a big decision (whether to accept a job offer that would require relocating) and I asked the cards for advice and pulled the eight of wands reversed??
like... the upright version would be so clear - full speed ahead, go for it! but reversed as ADVICE??? does that mean slow down? don't go? or like... don't rush into it but still go eventually?
I've been sitting with this all day and I'm just more confused lol. anyone have experience with this card in the advice position?
Oh this is such a meaningful pull for an advice position! The cards whisper something important here...
Eight of Wands reversed as advice is often asking you to pause before acting - not "don't go" but "don't rush the decision itself." Are you feeling pressured by a deadline? By other people's expectations?
The reversed wands are asking you to untangle your OWN desire from external momentum. Once you're clear on what YOU want (not what you're supposed to want), the path will feel obvious. Trust your inner knowing on this one.
I got this card reversed as advice once when I was about to send an angry message lol. it was literally telling me to wait before firing it off. ended up being glad I did
I read reversed advice cards as "here's what NOT to do" - so it might be saying don't rush the decision even if you feel like you need to decide NOW
does the job offer have a hard deadline? maybe ask for more time if you can?
ok these replies are so helpful!! I think Sarah K is right that I've been feeling pressure from the timeline more than actually being ready
I asked for a few more days to decide and they said yes. doing another reading once I've slept on it more. thanks everyone
omg I had almost the exact same situation last year - big job decision with a relocation and pulled a reversed card as advice
for me I realized I was trying to match the "speed" of the decision to the excitement of the offer, not to how ready I actually felt. the reversed wands were literally just saying "your internal pace doesn't match the external pressure"
good luck with the decision!! sounds like you're handling it really thoughtfully by asking for more time
found this thread searching for exactly this!! I got eight of wands reversed as advice last month about whether to go back to school and was SO confused
reading through these replies helped me realize I was also just caught up in the "exciting opportunity" energy without checking in with myself. ended up deferring my enrollment by a semester and honestly it was the right call
reversed cards as advice really do mean slow down before you speed up I think
ok update for everyone who helped me!! 💙
I asked for the extension like moonchild22 suggested and used that extra time to actually sit with what I WANTED (not what I felt like I should do). pulled the cards again a few days later with a clearer head and got the four of cups - which felt like a big "stop and actually listen to yourself" message lol
long story short: I declined the offer. not because I was scared but because when I got really honest, the job itself was exciting but the location felt wrong for me right now. the eight of wands reversed was basically saying don't let the momentum of a good offer rush you past your actual needs
feel so much lighter. thank you all seriously - especially Sarah K for the bit about untangling my own desire from external momentum. that sentence kept coming back to me all week
