ok so I've been seeing a libra guy for about 3 months and I'm a cancer
honestly I thought we'd be a great match because we both care about relationships and want things to be harmonious
but the reality is... I feel SO much and he just kind of... thinks? like I'm processing emotionally and he's off making a pros and cons list somewhere
when something upsets me I need to FEEL it first before I can talk about it. but by the time I'm ready to talk he's already moved on and doesn't understand why I'm still in my feelings about it
and he gets overwhelmed when I get emotional - not in a mean way he just goes quiet which honestly makes it worse
any other cancers dating a libra? how do you navigate the feeling vs thinking divide??

what I learned is that he wasn't shutting down, he was panicking because he didn't know what to do. libras hate seeing someone upset and they freeze when they don't have a clear role

Cancer is a water sign - emotional processing is your primary mode. You move through feelings, not around them. Libra is air - they process through thought and weighing options before they can respond.
The tricky part? When air meets water in an emotional moment, they're often on completely different timelines. Cancer needs to feel heard first. Libra needs to understand what role they're supposed to play.
A shift that often helps: tell him explicitly which mode you're in. "I just need to vent right now, I'm not looking for solutions yet." Libras love having a clear role. Give him one and you might be surprised how much calmer things get.

cancer here and I dated a libra for two years!! it gets better when you both figure out how to meet in the middle
the biggest thing for me was learning to say what I actually need instead of expecting him to just know. cancers are intuitive and we kind of expect others to be too but libras need more direct communication

update: had a talk with him and tried the 'I just need to vent right now' thing and he was SO much calmer
turns out he was going quiet because he didn't know if I wanted advice or just to be heard. once he had that clarity everything felt easier
