so my boss is a capricorn and im a leo and lately it feels like we are just built to grind on each other lol
like I want to be recognized for what I bring to the table and they are all about process and doing things "the right way" even when it is slower. I get why that matters for the business but it is honestly draining some days
is this just a capricorn boss + leo employee thing or is it more of a me problem lol. curious if anyone has made this pairing actually work
honestly the process vs recognition thing is so real with this pairing. my capricorn manager finally started calling out wins in team meetings once I actually asked for it directly - did not even occur to her that i needed that
Looking at this pairing structurally - Capricorn's earth energy is oriented around long-term stability and proven systems, while Leo's fire energy needs visibility and creative ownership to feel motivated. Neither is wrong, they are just measuring success differently.
The move that tends to work: ask your boss directly for the recognition you need instead of waiting for it to be offered. Capricorns respect a direct, practical ask far more than they intuit an unspoken need.
wait this happened with my capricorn boss too. once i started documenting wins and just handing her a short list before reviews it got so much easier, she actually used it to advocate for me
ok update: took MarcusAstro's advice and just straight up asked for more visibility on my wins in our 1:1. she was actually receptive?? said she assumed i did not want the spotlight since i never brought it up lol. feeling a lot better about this now
