ok so I've been with my leo partner for almost two years and I genuinely don't understand where the arrogant reputation comes from??
like yes he's confident. yes he has strong opinions. but arrogant? not even close. he's actually one of the most generous and warm people I know
I feel like the "leos are full of themselves" thing is just... a misread? like people confuse confidence with arrogance and then blame the sun sign for it
anyone else feel like this stereotype is way overblown? or am I just lucky lol
honestly same. my best friend is a leo and she's the LEAST arrogant person I know. super giving, always hyping everyone else up. I think people just don't like confidence in general and leo gets the blame for it
This is such a good point and it comes up a lot.
The "arrogant Leo" label usually comes from how Leo energy presents when it's unbalanced - excessive need for validation, steamrolling others, that kind of thing. But that's not Leo at its core.
At its core, Leo is ruled by the Sun. The Sun doesn't ask permission to shine - it just does. That's not arrogance, that's self-possession. The distinction matters.
A well-integrated Leo is one of the warmest, most loyal signs in the zodiac. The arrogance stereotype tends to come from Leos who haven't learned to hold space for others' light alongside their own. Which... honestly applies to a lot of signs when they're not self-aware.
Your partner sounds like a Leo who's done that work.
wait this explains so much. my leo coworker always gets called arrogant by people who don't really know him but to me he's just... sure of himself? and tbh I respect it
I'm a leo and I've internalized this stereotype so much that I actually second-guess myself when I'm proud of something. like I'll achieve something cool and then immediately feel bad for feeling good about it lol
so yeah the stereotype does real damage imo
omg ocean_child that's so real and kind of sad honestly. you deserve to celebrate your wins without the guilt trip
and thanks everyone - glad I'm not the only one who thinks the reputation doesn't match reality
