I keep seeing gemini slander everywhere and as someone who has a gemini best friend and a gemini coworker I'm just... confused??
my best friend is literally the most consistent loyal person I know. yes she can talk to anyone and adjusts her vibe depending on the room but isn't that just being socially aware??
my coworker is similar - he's more serious in meetings and then hilarious at lunch and I'm like... that's just code switching? everyone does that?
where does the two-faced thing actually come from. is there something astrologically I'm missing or is it just a meme at this point

we're adaptable not fake. I think the reputation comes from people who want everyone to be the same in every situation, and geminis just aren't. we meet people where they are
The 'two-faced' stereotype has a genuinely interesting origin. Gemini is symbolized by the twins Castor and Pollux - one mortal, one divine - representing the dual nature of human experience: reason and intuition, the social self and the inner self.
Historically, this duality was seen as a gift, not a flaw. Mercury-ruled signs are built for communication and translation between different worlds - adapting register, tone, and approach depending on context.
What gets misread as 'fake' is actually intellectual flexibility. Geminis can genuinely hold multiple perspectives simultaneously, which looks inconsistent to people who can't. The ones who earn the negative label usually have other chart factors at play - it's rarely the Gemini sun alone.

I think people confuse 'can talk to anyone' with 'tells different people different things' which is just not the same thing at all
the Castor and Pollux thing blew my mind a little ngl. I never thought about the mythological roots and it makes the duality thing make so much more sense
