ok so I've been seeing everywhere that capricorns are supposedly "emotionally unavailable" and "cold" but... is that actually true?
I have two capricorn friends and they're some of the most loyal, caring people I know. like yes they're not super huggy or whatever but cold feels like the wrong word??
I feel like this stereotype is kind of unfair. anyone else have capricorns in their life that don't fit this mold at all? or am I just lucky
same honestly!! my capricorn sister gets labeled cold all the time but she's literally the first person who shows up when something goes wrong. she just doesn't... perform emotions I guess?
like she'll help you move, drive you to the hospital, remember every detail of your problems. that's not cold that's just a different love language lol
Great question and honestly the stereotype frustrates me too as an astrologer.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn - the planet of structure, discipline, and responsibility. Saturn energy isn't cold, it's reserved. There's a difference.
Capricorns don't splash emotions around publicly because Saturn teaches restraint and self-sufficiency. They were often the "responsible one" early in life and learned to hold things together rather than fall apart.
Look at their chart though - their moon and Venus placements tell you way more about how they express warmth. A Cap sun with a Cancer moon or Pisces Venus? Deeply feeling, just... private about it.
this thread is so validating omg. I'm a capricorn and I get the "why are you so serious" thing constantly and it's exhausting
I'm not cold I just don't want to talk about my feelings with people I barely know?? that should be normal actually
the moon placement thing MarcusAstro said is SO real. I know a capricorn with a scorpio moon and she is INTENSE, not cold at all lol. deep conversations, remembers everything you've ever told her
maybe the cold thing applies more to capricorns who also have air moons? idk just a theory
the air moon theory is interesting!! my capricorn dad has an aquarius moon and yeah... he's not exactly warm and fuzzy lol. but even he shows up in the ways that matter
I think the cold thing comes from capricorns not doing the performative emotion stuff? like they won't cry at a hallmark movie with you but they'll absolutely reorganize your whole life when you're falling apart
that's not cold that's just a different way of caring
capricorn sun here and honestly this thread made my day. I show love through showing up, not through big emotional speeches. glad other people actually get that
@thistle_wren that's basically what my friends do too, it just took me a while to see it as a love language instead of distance
